More natural sound, without the noise, in more environments

This week, HeardThat launched a new version of the app that enables users to incorporate as much ambient sound as desired without hearing their own voices. To do this, HeardThat has integrated two of its most popular features, Directional mode and adjustable noise removal which now work together harmoniously.

Prior to this release, Directional mode would remove the user's own voice, but the more that noise removal was turned down, the more that the user's own voice would come through. Now there is no tradeoff between the two.

Why this matters

No other hearing-assistive technology suppresses users’ voices to this extent. Users can now have as much ambient sound as they’d like without hearing their own voice. This creates a more natural hearing experience and aids in situational awareness.

Don’t hearing aids do this?

Hearing aids provide important benefits for those hard of hearing, but a Consumer Reports survey reported that all brands users evaluated received “low marks when used for one-on-one conversations in noisy places.” The new generation of hearing assistance in the form of “hearables” and OTC hearing aids have the same limitations.

The HeardThat difference

HeardThat is a powerful tool that can be used with hearing aids and other wearable devices like earbuds and headphones. The app leverages AI to remove background noise altogether. Wearables don’t have the power to run such algorithms, unlike HeardThat which uses the power of smartphones to solve this very common hearing problem for those with or without hearing aids. No new devices are needed.
